Frequently Asked Questions
How often should I have my carpet cleaned?
A: Most experts agree that carpets that are used on a daily basis should be cleaned every 8 to 12 months, or at least annually. Rooms used less frequently, such as formal living and dining rooms, will need it less often. Business/Office environments should be cleaned every 6 months.
I've heard I should put off cleaning as long as possible. Is this true?
A: No. From day one of its installation your carpets become soiled from foot traffic to dust and dirt to microscopic particles you can't even see! Regular and thorough vacuuming will remove most of these contaminants. When cleaning becomes necessary, I utilize cleaning and rinsing properties from both sides of the pH spectrum (alkaline pre-conditioners and acid based rinses) allowing me to clean and then rinse leaving your carpets fresh and renewed with no soil attracting residues! Carpets stay cleaner longer!
What should I do to prepare for my cleaning?
A: The day before your appointment, vacuum your carpets, paying particular attention to entryways and where coming off of hard surface floors. Pick up small objects and place atop beds/sofas/etc, depending on what is to be moved. If you have room. Move what you can, or I can move it for you. Also, have a space for me to park near the entrance to the home.
How soon can I use my carpets?
A: Immediately! Although they will be damp (drying times vary according to humidity, airflow, and whether protectant was used), they can be walked on right away. I recommend the use of an old towel or walk-off mat to pat the shoes/feet dray to reduce the risk of slipping or falling.
